Job Description:
This Construction Inspector Position Features:
Location: Fort MacArthur Air Force Base in San Pedro,CA
LOCALS ONLY
The Construction Inspector is responsible for ensuring, on behalf
of the U.S. Air Force, that contractors hired by the U.S.
Government execute construction work in compliance with required
safety protocols and adhere to design drawing and plans. The
Construction Inspector will monitor multiple construction projects
concurrently, and will support construction managers in providing
on site observations and acting as a liaison between construction
contractors and Government representatives. The Construction
Inspector will complete daily Blue Book logs of each active
construction project, and will represent the U.S. Government at the
kick-off meeting, pre-final walk-through, and final walk-through of
each construction project. This position works primarily at Fort
MacArthur in San Pedro, CA, with occasional visits required to Los
Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, CA. Being geographically
separated from the rest of the project team, this individual must
be able to work with minimal supervision.
Requirements:
? Cal OSHA 30 Hour certification
? A working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products
? Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work as
part of a team in a highly structured organization.
? 5 + years of experience as Construction Inspector or Building
Inspector or related background.
? Must have or be able to obtain a valid state driver's license and
be eligible to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance
? Preferred: ICC Certifications, additional OSHA certifications
Other preferred requirements: Previous experience working in the US
military, previous experience in program or project management.
